Welcome to SG Flight School!

At SG Flight School, we believe that flying should be a joyous adventure! Whether you’re dreaming of becoming a commercial pilot or just want to explore the skies as a hobbyist, we're here to help you take off.

Your flight journey is unique, and we’re excited to guide you every step of the way. Remember, it’s all about enjoying the process and finding your own voice in the sky. Let’s make your aviation dreams take flight together!

A discovery flight is an introductory flying experience, designed to give you a taste of what it's like to be a pilot. No previous flight experience required. During the flight, you'll have the opportunity to sit in the cockpit of a small aircraft with a certified flight instructor (CFI), who will guide you through basic controls and maneuvers. You will have the opportunity to take the controls and enjoy flying the plane. It's a low-pressure, hands-on way to explore the thrill of flying and see if pursuing a pilot's license is right for you.

The Private Pilot's course is a comprehensive training program designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to earn a Private Pilot Certificate. The course includes both ground school and flight training. During ground school, you'll learn aviation theory, regulations, weather, navigation, and more. In flight training, you'll learn the basics of flying under the guidance of a certified flight instructor (CFI). The course culminates in a check ride, where you'll demonstrate your proficiency to a Designated Pilot Examiner. Successfully completing the course allows you to fly privately and carry passengers for non-commercial purposes.

The Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) course is the next level in training that teaches pilots to fly solely by reference to instruments. This rating is essential for flying in challenging weather conditions, such as clouds or low visibility, and is a great way to improve upon the flying you learned during your Private Pilot course. The course includes ground school, covering topics like instrument navigation, flight planning, and regulations, as well as in-flight training where you'll practice flying in simulated and actual instrument conditions. You'll learn to use navigational aids, perform instrument approaches, and manage cockpit resources effectively. Earning an Instrument Rating expands your skills and safety, allowing you to fly in a broader range of weather conditions.

The Commercial Pilot's course is designed for those who want to fly aircraft professionally. This advanced training program builds on the skills learned in private pilot training, focusing on higher standards of precision, safety, and decision-making. The course emphasizes understanding aviation regulation, advanced aerodynamics, and cross-country navigation to meet the higher standards required for commercial operations. Earning a CPL allows you to be compensated for your flying and opens doors to careers in aviation.

The Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) course is a program that prepares pilots to teach others how to fly. This course focuses on developing your ability to effectively communicate flight concepts, instruct students, and safely manage a training environment. The course helps pilots take what they have learned and develop a method to teach that to their future students in both flight and ground knowledge. The course will give guidance on teaching theory and student psychology to give instructors the tools they need for success. Earning a CFI license allows you to train new pilots, build flight hours, and gain valuable experience in aviation, often serving as a steppingstone to other advanced flying careers.

The Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII) course will prepare instructors to start teaching instrument flight. Building on your existing CFI knowledge, this course will help instructors organize their knowledge of instrument flight into teachable lessons and be able to manage flying in instrument conditions while also teaching their students. You'll learn how to effectively convey critical concepts, troubleshoot common issues, and create engaging, student-centered training experiences. By focusing on both the development of your instructional techniques and the mastery of instrument flying, this course prepares you to guide future pilots through the intricacies of IFR operations with confidence and clarity.

Our specialized flight training program is designed for anyone who may be flying with you to safely manage a potential emergency. This course focuses on equipping students with the essential skills and knowledge to safely operate an aircraft from the right seat in critical situations. You'll learn fundamental flying techniques, emergency procedures, and basic aircraft handling through hands-on training with experienced instructors. By focusing on practical, easy-to-understand instructions, our program ensures that students gain confidence and competence in managing an aircraft, empowering you to assist effectively if an unexpected situation arises.
